Celebrating the 19th Annual Day of the Dead Festival In Oceanside On Oct. 27th

 

Vamos, let’s go! – It’s almost time for the ‘Dia De Los Muertos’ Festival of 2019 at Mission San Luis Rey in Oceanside on Sunday, October 27th!

Here’s the ‘skeletal’ breakdown:

Day of the Dead has been a traditional Mexican holiday dating back thousands of years in celebration of the memories of the past with beautiful colors, pastels, and altars to commemorate friends, family, and loved ones.

Location & Info:

Dia De Los Muertos Festival’ officially kicks off this weekend at the Old Mission at San Luis Rey in Oceanside and includes a spooky line up of attractions ranging from arts and culture exhibits and entertainment, to the classic car show by Por Siempre Car Club.  Get your tickets today for just $2 to enter the 19th annual Dia De Los Muertos Festival @Old Mission San Luis Rey in Oceanside, CA at 4050 Mission Avenue, Oceanside, CA, 92057.

Attractions & Entertainment:

The art displays will consist of over 25 altars across The Strand with local dancers and entertainment including activities for kids like face painting and carnival rides! There is no need to pack a snack – A shopping Mercado filled with a wide variance of traditional tasty trick-or-treats vendors from all sorts of local restaurants, styles, and the fresh farmers market. In total there will be over 90 vendors at this event and the expected attendance grows year after year.

Remembering History & Family:

Lastly, there is a unique interactive chalk cemetery where everyone can pay their respects and even dedicate images, flowers, candles, and other forms of remembrance and praise to their lost loved ones. This is what truly makes this historical day of the dead celebration a special friends and family-centered event.
